PROJECT DESCRIPTION There are advantages to a small, quiet, discreet camera, as I hope these modest, intimate portraits will show. I feel pretty sure I could not have taken with a big DSLR, but then again, I would say that, wouldn't I...? |

PROJECT DESCRIPTION Last week I decided join the 'Seoul Metro Project' with the 'Seoul Photo Club' on Flickr (sorry Francis). The aim of the project is to take a photograph of all the stops on the Seoul/Gyeonggi Subway map. The idea is to create a series of photographs that represent the Line that each photographer has chosen. There were no 'rules' so to speak and creativity was keenly stressed (to avoid repetition). Unfortunately I joined the project late and have had only limited time to finish the thing (by next week). I had to do Incheon Line 1, 28 stops in total, but I'm not going to bore you with all of them! |

PROJECT DESCRIPTION Six weeks of aftershocks, conflicting exports about radiation levels in the water supply and a general gloom, and I was ready for break, even a short five days in the UK via Copenhagen. On the one hand it was a chance to shoot more cheerful subjects, on the other hand it was a perfect opportunity for trying out the quirky but brilliant FujiFilm X100, a large sensor compact that sports the best "rangefinder-like" viewfinder since the legendary Konica Hexar AF. |

PROJECT DESCRIPTION This work in progress is my attempt to engage with the life of a transgender artist, Monorama, who lives in Calcutta, India. During spring, Monorama performs in closed community spaces, often the bastis (slums) and paras (neighbourhoods) of Calcutta and its suburbs. She impersonates the goddess Sitala who is believed to provide protection from small pox (and chicken pox). The selection of photographs are from some of these aforementioned performances - before the actual enactment of the performance, during and after. |

PROJECT DESCRIPTION This short street can be truly called the artery of south Calcutta, which distinguishes the more hip side of the city from the remainder. Last month I had to spend untold number of hours doing nothing but stay put within a few blocks of this street, lined by shops. After spending a few day there, I decided to bring the camera along. Here are the result, in no coherent theme. |

PROJECT DESCRIPTION ... of surrounding areasThe suburbs of Porto have a personality of its own, entirely distinct from the surrounding areas of other major cities. The urban growth are associated with local history side by side with rural heritage and rural spaces. The rurality emerges in a sinuous way resisting the advance of modernity. |
