PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Gyeongju is a small city in the south western part of South Korea. It is mostly known for it's UNESCO world heritage historical sites from the Silla period.  However, in the compact city centre, I found that daily life is bustling as usual, the markets on the streets, as in many Korean cities, give an old chaotic Asian flair among the ultra modern cafes, PC rooms and bars. I like these contrasts that happily live side by side in Korea.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
I went for a quick walk to buy cigarettes at 1am in Insadong, a neighborhood in Seoul. Insadong caters for tourists but after the tourists have all gone to bed the back streets come alive with the locals eating street food after a few drinks. I took a few quick snaps with the LX3 using B&W dynamic mode in camera.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Shots taken in and around art galleries, I find the light, space and atmosphere is conducive to trying out a few shots. I prefer to capture people interacting with the art, or simple the spaces and light.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This may take a while, as I am finding it difficult to find images that I am happy with. I hope to simplify shapes and movements and contrast it with the black of night.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
I stayed for a few days in KL, in a cheap room right above the din of Petaling Street, central to the city's Chinatown. I took to wandering about in the evenings and night, taking in the bustling, slightly chaotic Chinatown, with it's street food and cheap buys and also Bukit Bintang, by contrast more expensive, a little trendy, full of air-con shopping malls, neon consumerism. Both area's bustle at night though and I took these simple shots as I walked (and ate) my way around KL.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

From August last year it started raining, and it simply never stopped. Over 5 months there was barely a fine day. By January, a flood came, in Queensland the flood areas were larger than the size of Germany and France combined. The flood also reached Brisbane, where I reside, and here I wanted to document the experience a little. From some shots of the incessant rain form 2010, to the flood itself.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Bukit Bintnag is Kuala Lumpur's modern, developed, shopping district. It is a far cry from the grungy cheap eats and markets of Petaling St in the KL's Chinatown (I will feature a project on that soon). Bukit Bintang has a multitude of glossy and upmarket shopping centres, neon lights, fashion outlets, trendy retaurants and clubs as well as streets of hawker food and massage parlours (reflexology). It's all about consumerism, bright lights and been 'seen'. These concepts are becoming more and more universal worldwide I guess.
