You know Steve, I put up shots which I genuinely thing resonate, are good photography and al that and 24 hours later, not a soul has commented and I... feel sorry for myself ;o) Then look in on one of your pictures. like this excellent shot, no one has a word to say, and I feel...better ;o)))
I like the way you've set this one up, the man emerging shyly from is cave - something ancient and Biblical about the scene. Also, I hate to say this but the fellow looks a helluva lot like Osama Bin LAden, (a shorter version) don't you think?
You know, I understand what Francis speaks of...but, sometimes, mob rules...I feel a bit ashamed that this is my first comment to your work I think...maybe not. None-the-less, the quality of your photographs is outstanding, which plays a factor when viewing any one of them. Here though, I'm not quite feeling an attachment. For me, the wall plays too much a part in the shot which sells short (no pun intended) the gentleman in the doorway. It's a subtle difference, but it is there none-the-less.
I've looked at the shot a couple of times and I've tried to zero in on my particular feelings, I'm just not as convinced by this offering.
Regards,
Chris
