The Easiest Job

Darren M / © Darren Melrose - 25/12/2007 04:24:19 project: Is it a protest if noone comes \ Asia \ Taiwan \ T'ai-pei Shih
As I have mentioned already, the protest of the name change at the former CKS Memorial was an event created by politicians and the news media far more than one which happened on the ground.  Throughout the four days that it took for things to go down, security personel always outnumbered activists by a large number and media personel usually outnumbered protestors as well.

Here, a TV crew seeks to justify their paid coffee break by having an anchor broadcast an "update" with the anchor (bottom left) getting ready to go live.  Behind her is the main gate, which has been well covered by both Mark and myself.  In front of her is the actual Memorial, which also had a sign which was to be changed.

Great colors here, and good composition.

A very ominous looking sky, with a very eerie yellowish cast. The building at the top looks like a monster ready to swallow up the world before it. I like the low POV with the wide angle take really emphasizing the vertical frame.
