This is one of the most amazing series I've seen uploaded here, Nono, if not the most amazing one. Every each of them is a grainy, moody, atmospheric gem that ignites both passion and imagination. Benares has thus become one of the most magical places on earth. tc, sasa

Yes! Yes! Yes! This IS Tuscany, the aristocracy, the impeccable lines in the trousers even Jean Cocteau would have envied, the elegance that defies this century... superb shot, of course a favourite, Luko... tremendous wide-angle and pov, tonality... (When in Firenze I found myself in the Piazza della Signoria, in which throngs of t-shirt and short-panted tourists were buzzing around, I saw a gentleman, dressed to the nines, in the most elegant white suit, also with a cane and hat, looking at the cavalcade in the most dignified fashion...)

Now am going to wonder all night why this reminds me of Anselm Kiefer's canvases... the blackness... the suspense, the dark details in the light?

Again, a great shot of the Torre del Mangia, I remember my frustration not being able to capture it in its entirety in one shot. You did it. You could even include the fishbone structure of the wonderful Campo, what a marvellous piazza indeed... Did you go up?
I was having the flu but couldn't resist--and the view was worth every degree of temperature with which my fever rose afterwards... :)
(On a technical note, besides the shot's brilliant angle, the only thing that disturbs me is the halo around the Torre--maybe the dodging could be a bit more subtle?)

..".anywhere else in the world, a girl would have worn blue, black or white sneakers. Not in Italy…"--and not in Canada either ;)
Seriously, though, a magical shot. I probably would not have had the guts to render her (and the rose's) redness in sepia. You have it, and the effect is a classic and classy work with the very details that make Toscana so genuine--the stray Madonna portrait, probably worthy of a prestigeous museum, silently left there by the fireplace, the wonderful cool slabs of chiseled stone on which the woman has biked by towards the light...

I agree with you, Luko, about the incredible wealth of Tuscany. Whenever insomnia raises its fangs, I keep thinking of a tiny Mediaeval village, some 20 miles from Siena, on top of one of Toscana's hills, to lull me back to a state of utter peace and beauty. It is a magical place and I am delighted you share my passion for it--well, your shot (and I can hardly wait to see the rest of the series) does prove your enchantment--and your skills at shooting this fellow amidst his indelible cornucopia of culinary riches. Must have been hard to shoot it in the light conditions, but perhaps because of that, your contrasty burnt siena burns the senses even hotter.

This one I am not sure of, Angelo, for it doesn't seem to have a strong impact on me without the additional details--it looks like a shot at a function that doesn't seem to reach me or entice me like your other ones. I would leave this one out of the series, perhaps.

FIrst I wondered if it were a composite shot but am sure it is not. It would be a turnoff! This way it is a beautiful capture of two important people--but even without them being important, the gestures and light and dark play are lovely themselves to be bathed in...
