Nice portrait indeed. He seems to have an aura in this shot. Perhaps in real life too.

Gorgeous photograph, beautifully lit and with beautiful tones. That ORDER - I have never seen it in British or continental European open space offices. . .

Leica Summilux M? I thought you had taken that step forward (or back?) from the X100 and joined some of us in the haus of the roter punkt. But having seen your reply to Kaj, you must be testing the GXR Module M [unless it is a bluff? :-) ]

As usual, catching up way after the event. . .

As good as insight as you have ever given us into the Japanese psyche. This salaryman, standing erect and to attention, without a hint of humour or irony. Moreover, his nonchalent colleagues in the background. Superb. Absolutely superb.

hmmm. For me, this is far too close. I feel that there would actually have been more intimacy if you had been further away! I don't even feel it was neccessary to see their faces..

 Hi Francis,

I am going to be frank as well here. I must agree with Steve, it is a picture of a picture..so I am struggling to connect with it. I do, however like your accompanying note, which made me chuckle...it's good. Though you have presented the photo too seriously...I would have liked a wider view of the room where it hung, perhaps. Was it photogenic, in any way?

Saying all of this, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your introduction to the project and was excited by the thumbnails. I went through the whole project and I prefer the photographs without any people in them. I can imagine that you experienced a sense of romance within the house, especially with the couple. However, I am sorry to say that this does not come across in their interactions with each-other or to me as a viewer. I might have preferred a more abstract or elusive presence of bodies moving through the spaces, almost as though their spirits remained. The light and atmosphere you have shown looks warm and romantic..I adore the empty rooms and especially the papaya..oh I just love that film. I was just discussing it with an old flame the other day.

Great idea and beautiful text, which has really got my imagination going..Room for more photographs in this project and even a second visit..

best, kaj..
